As I sit here at my station,
I’m suddenly filled with anticipation.
The feeling is not exciting, but unnerving.
A mood fills the air that’s quite disturbing.
I try to focus on the task at hand.
My legs are shaking; I try to stand.
I remain seated paralyzed from fear,
What kind of evil could be here?
Heart racing, palms are wet.
It’s heart is cold - on this I’d bet.
A dreadful curiosity gets the best of me,
So, hesitantly, I turned to see.
For a second my heart did stop.
And, out of terror my jaw did drop.
It’s the owner of the company;
His soulless eyes fixated on me.
Back to work his voice did crack.
His dark silhouette fading back.
Back into the shadows it did go.
I think to hell, but I do not know.
